The author's creds may not be at the level of Stephen Hawking, but she captured the essential questions and possible answers I've been puzzling over since first stumbling into quantum mechanics in the 1960s. To understand quantum physics, you have to learn the language, the math. I never could do the math, but I knew Physicists and spent many bleary nights discussing quantum science with them as well as read innumerable books about it. There is a mystical quality to quantum physics that either drives physicists nuts, turns them toward religion, or is blocked out of their thinking. They simply accept the absurdities of the quantum world. Zohar attempts to put "it" together to see how the quantum and macro worlds interface. You are left deciding about what the mysteries mean, but you have a better understanding of the difficulties in making sense of it all. I think that's probably the best anyone can expect from a non-math perspective. I read it twice.
I read this book back in the nineties and it absolutely changed my perspective on so many aspects of life that I was unsure of.I recently purchased it as a Christmas gift for my sister to help her understand the passing of our mother a little better.This is a very easy book to read and is a definite page turner if you are at all interested in quantum physics, the meaning of life and what happens after we die. Danah manages to turn a very technical and confusing subject, quantum physics/mechanics, into a logical and simple formula.I have yet to read her other works, but Danah Zohar has a special place in my mind, heart and spirit for waking me up to the elemental nature of the reality in which we exist.
Quantum self is an awesome book. I read it years ago, and have bought several copies for friends. Better than any book I've ever read it explains the thinking process, and helps understand differences in they way people think. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.
Great Book by a very good author. Her comment saying quantum leadership equates to servant leadership is right on! We need more physicists who translate scientific discovery into our lives in a practice and useful way.
This is a well-articulated presentation of the new emerging quantum worldview - a worldview that sees consciousness as a quantum mechanical phenomenon. Personally, the author help me to resolve some philosophical issues - namely, the mind/body problem, free will vs. determinism, the problem of the one and the many, and the God-world relationship. I highly recommend this book for those who are interested in integrating their spirituality with science. It will alter the way you see the world.
